ESTUDIO DE LA SEQUÍA HIDROLÓGICA Y METEOROLÓGICA EN LA
CUENCA DEL RÍO LLOBREGAT

Recently, study and research of drought phenomena correlated with climate change has become important. This field has been of great interest due to the increasing demand on hydric resources as a consequence of population growth. However, a decrease in supply has been observed probable because of changes in temperature distribution (due to global warming) which leads to a redistribution of water masses in the atmosphere (spatial-temporal) making more extreme control
series (precipitation, flow discharge, temperatures etc…), giving rise to heavy and very unusual rain in places where it didn’t occur and, on the other hand, causing lack of rain in other regions. As is known, classification of different kind of droughts has been tried because a unique and formal definition of this phenomenon is impossible. The present article exposes different methods and methodologies for monitoring and study of Hydrological Drought and Meteorological Drought
applied on the Llobregat basin, making a trend analysis of the Hydrological Drought parameters. Additionally Palmer Indexes have been applied to characterize Meteorological Drought, comparing with actual drought scenarios proposed by ACA(Agència Catalana de l’Aigua).
